Magnificent Fried Mushrooms

 Magnificent Fried Mushrooms       fried_mushrooms_2

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  •  2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 pounds mushrooms

Directions:

Wash the mushrooms and trim the stems and dry.  Beat the eggs and then stir in the milk.  In a medium bowl, add and mix all the dry ingredients.  Dip the mushrooms in the egg wash then bread crumbs.  And repeat, egg wash and breadcrumbs.  Let the dipped mushrooms sit and dry for 15 minutes.  Fry in deep oil heated to 360°F. for about 2 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.   Season with salt and pepper.  Serve immediately.
