Two favorite breakfasts combined into one. This recipe will make a great weekend morning treat for the whole family.

Cinnamon Roll Waffles     cinnamon roll waffles



  • 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 eggs, separated

Cinnamon Topping:

  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Cream Cheese Icing:

  • 3 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons milk to thin icing


  1. Preheat the waffle iron.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt
  3. In a large glass measuring cup, combine the milk, buttermilk, melted butter and egg yolks.  Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and whisk to combine.
  4. Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form.  Fold into the waffle batter.
  5. Prepare the cinnamon topping:  Combine the brown sugar, melted butter and cinnamon.  Set aside.
  6. Prepare the cream cheese icing:  With an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and butter until combined and smooth.  Add the salt and powdered sugar, continue to beat until well combined.  Add the vanilla extract.  Add in enough milk to thin the icing so that you can drizzle it.  Set aside.
  7. Cook the waffles in the waffle iron.
  8. To serve, plate the waffles with a swirl of cinnamon topping and drizzle with icing.  Serve immediately.
