Five Spice Beef and Rice Casserole

 Five Spice Beef and Rice Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1lb ground beef
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder, thyme and oregano
  • 1 can (16 oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup Minute Rice
  • dash of fresh ground black pepper
  • bay leaf
  • 1 lb. shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°.
Brown the ground beef and drain off the fat.  Add the onions and cook to translucent.  Stir in all the seasonings and remaining ingredients.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.  Pour into a baking dish.  Spread shredded cheese over the top.  Bake uncovered for 20 minutes.  Makes about 6 servings.
