Grilling season is in full flight!  I just got a new grill for Father’s Day and I am breaking it in BIG!  Here’s a great HEALTHY option for a evening meal or weekend cookout.  You will notice that with this recipe and those coming after this, I’ll be making note of both Gluten Free and Grain Free recipes.  I’ve heard from many of my followers that they are very interested in gluten free recipes.  I’m also going to share some more healthy choices.  Give this one a try.  Your going to love it.

Turkey-Veggie Burgers (Gluten Free)

Turkey-Veggie Burger

Turkey-Veggie Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 lb of ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped carrot
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped organic zucchini
  • 1/4 tsp  sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder
  • 1/8 tsp fresh-ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet to medium-high heat and add about one tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté finely chopped onion, carrot, zucchini and garlic until soft (about 3-4 minutes).
  2. Place ground turkey in large mixing bowl and add seasonings. Add veggies to the turkey and allow to cool a minute.
  3. Using your hands, combine all ingredients until well incorporated.
  4. Form into patties and grill over medium-high heat.
  5. Or you can individually wrap uncooked patties and store in a freezer-safe container in the freezer.
  6. Be sure to allow frozen burgers to thaw overnight in frig before grilled.
